Acupuncture, the first time.

Last month I was kindly invited down to Brackenbury Natural Health client, West London to get my first experience of Chinese medicine.

I was greeted by the lovely Liv, a highly- trained acupuncturist and massage therapist. We had a an insightful conversation to determine my health. My life style is pretty hectic so most questions I never give myself the space to acknowledge.

We had three sessions together, including a mix of acupuncture, aromatherapy massage and cupping. Acupuncture involves very thin needles being inserted into areas of your body to trigger pain and stimulate the nervous system. It also releases any tension. I'm not a fan of needles but you hardly feel these. Liv placed them in pressure points over my body including my feet, to create a grounded feeling.

Cupping was a peculiar sensation but the premise involves cups being lit and placed on your back, the pressure from the cup sucks toxins to the surface of your skin, stimulating blood flow to over used muscles.

After the two treatments my body felt rejuvenated and centred. I suffer from back pains and the mixture of cupping and acupuncture really reduced this. It was as if dormant muscles were alive again. My overall energy levels increased, sleep was undisturbed and particularly after my last session which involved acupuncture to my feet I felt my anxiety levels decrease.

Liv has a wonderful aura that makes you feel at home and comfortable. Thank you for looking after me.
